Malaysia – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized and highlighted special attention for the ceasefire in Palestine to continue.

Prabowo conveyed this during a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Monday (1/27).

Prabowo stated that Indonesia and Malaysia have the same understanding in fighting for Palestinian independence.

“I think the important thing is that we are on the same side of the Palestinian issue. We still support Palestinian independence,” Prabowo said.

For this reason, Prabowo firmly stated that the only solution for Palestinian independence is the “Two-State Solution” policy.

“And we are very firm that the only solution is a two-state solution. That is what we always say. We accept the current ceasefire,” Prabowo said.

“Of course we hope this ceasefire will last,” he continued.

On this occasion, the two leaders also agreed to resolve bilateral issues between Indonesia and Malaysia, including related to labor issues which were agreed to be disciplined.

“We will solve bilateral problems. We also agreed to regulate labor issues. In all fields, we have agreed to increase cooperation,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo’s visit to Malaysia was to fulfill the invitation of the King of Malaysia, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim. Prabowo’s arrival was received with an honor guard ceremony at the State Palace Parade Ground, starting with singing the national anthems of both countries, followed by 21 cannon shots as a sign of respect.

After the ceremony, Prabowo attended an audience with Sultan Ibrahim, where he was also awarded the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati I (The Most Esteemed Order of the Johor Royal I). (RR)
