President Prabowo Subianto targets that all children in Indonesia will have access to free nutritious food by the end of 2025. President Prabowo made the statement to the media after inaugurating electricity projects in 18 provinces in the Jatigede Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) area, Sumedang Regency, West Java Province, on Monday, 20 January 2025.

‘Eating nutritious food is physically not easy to immediately reach all people. For that, I am Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, I apologise to all parents, to all children who have not received it. But I believe that in 2025, by the end of 2025, all Indonesian children will be able to eat nutritious food,’ said the President.

The Head of State explained that obstacles in the distribution of free nutritious meals are not only physical, but also administrative, as well as the importance of securing funds to prevent misappropriation. However, the President emphasised that the Government continues to do its best for the people.

‘The process of securing that the money sent is not lost, there is a process that we must carry out. And it takes time. But I emphasise that we are trying to find the best, fastest way so that all our children can feel it,’ said the Head of State.

President Prabowo again emphasised that the free nutritious meal project is not a light project. However, regarding the budget, President Prabowo assured that the funds for the nutritious meal programme are already available.

‘This is a very big project, not light, physically not light. But I guarantee the funds are there, I guarantee the funds are there for all Indonesian children to eat. For those who don’t need the meal programme, it’s okay. Give the rations to those who need it,’ the President said. (RU)
