President Prabowo Subianto conveyed the government’s commitment to ensure that all Indonesian children receive nutritious food through the free nutritious meal programme (MBG). The commitment was conveyed by the President in his statement to the media after attending the National Consolidation Meeting of the Indonesian Kadin Association on Thursday, 16 January 2025, at The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta.

“What is clear from the central government is that we are ready to feed all Indonesian children in 2025,” the President said.

The government programme, which officially started at the beginning of this year, is expected to be a big step in improving the health quality of Indonesia’s young generation. Therefore, President Prabowo invited all parties to actively participate in the implementation of this programme.

“Then the regional governments also want to participate, the governors, the regents want to participate. We open it to anyone who wants to participate,” he said.

In its implementation, synergy between all relevant parties is needed to ensure that the MBG programme runs as intended. The Head of State also emphasised that the implementation of this programme must be efficient and right on target.

“The important thing is to be efficient, the important thing is to reach the target, and there are no leaks,” he continued (RU)
