Depok – Elementary school students in Depok were happy to receive the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG). They showed their joy by writing touching messages of gratitude to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

The touching messages were left on the MBG meal boxes or omprengs after they had eaten the food provided.

Regita, a grade 3 student, thanked the MBG programme for making her pocket money whole so that she could save. The note was written by Regita and included a picture of Prabowo with his favourite cat, Bobby.

‘Letter to Mr Prabowo. Thank you, Mr Prabowo for all the food. So I can save money, because my pocket money doesn’t run out (intact because I got MBG),’ wrote Regita.

‘May Mr Prabowo live a long and healthy life. And always bless his sustenance, Aamiin,’ Regita added.

Another expression was shared by Aliya, a grade 5 student, and Alenna, a grade 6 student at SDN Cilangkap 8. Through their respective messages, they both expressed their love for Prabowo

‘Thank you Mr Prabowo, the food is delicious, great. I love you,’ Aliya wrote, including two pictures of red and pink hearts.

‘Thank you Mr Prabowo for the free food. I hope you are always healthy. I love you,’ wrote Alenna.

Aisya, a grade 5 student, also praised the delicious food. ‘Thank you Pak Prabowo for the food, it’s really delicious,’ she said.

MBG is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship programmes that has been running for a week, since it started simultaneously in 190 points spread across 26 provinces on Monday (6/1).

The kitchens are managed by the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG), which is directly appointed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). SPPG is the MBG programme implementation unit in charge of supplying food for programme beneficiaries.

SPPG works with a nutritionist and an accountant to ensure nutritional quality, hygiene standards, food distribution and waste management in each MBG kitchen.

To support sustainability, the government has chosen stainless steel food serving containers that are hygienic and reusable. (RR)
