Semarang – Semarang resident Amelia Widya Putri, who was assigned as the head of the Semarang Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), expressed her happiness to be involved in the free nutritious meal programme initiated by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
She said that since the free nutritious meal programme was launched by the government, many local people, including herself, have gained new job opportunities.
‘This opens up jobs, because we recruit our neighbours near the service unit to be employed here,’ Amelia told reporters on Wednesday (8/1).
According to Amelia, the free nutritious meal programme has great benefits. Apart from fulfilling the nutritional needs of Indonesian children, this programme is also a source of income for the workers in the service unit.
‘The value of the benefits is very large, those who initially did not work, suddenly work because there is this programme they can all work, making enough money for the family,’ he said.
He said the cooperation between the service unit for the supply of raw materials for free nutritious food also provides direct benefits to MSME players in Semarang and local farmers and breeders.
‘We work with local MSMEs, farmers and breeders. So, what they produce will also have feedback for us, we can use it, because we take it directly from them, the price is much cheaper,’ he explained.
He hopes that the free nutritious meal programme will expand so that all school children, especially in Semarang, can have their nutritional needs met.
‘Hopefully, this programme will continue and expand, because at the moment it is still limited. My hope is that all students and children in Indonesia can enjoy this nutritious meal. Hopefully, this can realise the Golden Indonesia 2045,’ he concluded. (RR)
