Cairo — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto extended his heartfelt appreciation to the 1,200 students who attended a meeting at Al Azhar University in Cairo on Wednesday (December 18). He commended their decision to pursue education at an institution renowned for promoting the principles of peaceful Islam.
“I am grateful to you for choosing to study at Al Azhar University, a place of great historical significance that teaches the values of peaceful Islam,” Prabowo remarked.
Prabowo elaborated on the essence of peaceful Islam, describing it as an approach that offers calm and constructive guidance to its followers without propagating hatred.
“Peaceful Islam is serene, teaching moderation. It is an Islam that does not incite hatred or blame, but rather seeks common ground,” he explained.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration among nations, religions, and diverse ethnic and racial groups to achieve shared aspirations for a safe and prosperous life.
“We share the same goals and interests. We strive for goodness in this world—to live free from fear and threats. We must maintain peace and ensure the safety of all humanity and our families. Only by doing so can we achieve the dreams of a safe and fulfilling life,” Prabowo concluded.
