Jakarta – President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has demonstrated his commitment to advancing education for the nation’s youth. One of his notable initiatives is the establishment of SMA Taruna Nusantara (TN), a prestigious high school with campuses in multiple regions.
Following the success of SMA Taruna Nusantara in Magelang, Central Java, Prabowo initiated the construction of new campuses in Malang, East Java, and Cimahi, West Java. These schools were conceptualized during his tenure as Minister of Defense.
Prabowo has frequently communicated the progress of these schools to the public.
“As Minister of Defense, we have an educational institution called Taruna Nusantara. Currently, there’s one in Magelang,” Prabowo said during a visit to Kalimantan in January 2024.
“I’m in the process of building SMA Taruna Nusantara in West Java, which is expected to be completed by October 2024,” he added.
The new SMA Taruna Nusantara campuses have attracted significant attention, with social media accounts like @tugumalangid and @bdgfolk showcasing videos of the schools in Malang and Cimahi. The posts feature the distinctive red-brick buildings up close, sparking widespread admiration.

Netizens have also shared their aspirations to study at or enroll their children in these high schools, which are built on expansive plots of land spanning tens of hectares.
