Kupang — The people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) expressed enthusiasm as President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Kupang, sharing optimism about the Free Nutritious Meal program promoted by his administration.
Hansel Liyanto, one of the dozens of residents who greeted Prabowo at Harper Hotel, where he stayed on Tuesday (3/12), voiced his hope for the success of the program.
“Hopefully, NTT can progress further. I hope all his programs run smoothly, especially the Free Nutritious Meal program, which we are eagerly awaiting,” Hansel said.
He added that he is confident the program will be effectively implemented, especially since NTT has a high stunting rate.
“We know that stunting is quite prevalent in NTT. Hopefully, with the Free Nutritious Meal program, children here will receive better nutrition as intended by the program,” he continued.
Jessica, another resident, brought her three children—Reia, Rylan, and Rayna—to meet Prabowo. She shared her excitement after waiting at the hotel from 5 PM.
“My three kids really wanted to meet Mr. Prabowo in person. We’ve been waiting since five in the evening,” Jessica shared with enthusiasm.
Jessica also recounted the warm interaction between her children and Prabowo.
“He asked their ages, five years old, happy or not?” Jessica asked her kids.
“Happy! Hello, Mr. Prabowo, I’m happy! Hello, Mr. President, I’m happy!” replied Reia and Rylan excitedly.
The warm reception highlights the residents’ optimism and support for Prabowo’s programs, which they hope will bring significant improvements to the region, especially in addressing child nutrition and stunting. (RR)
