Jakarta — Political analyst Agung Baskoro highlighted the results of the 2024 regional elections (Pilkada) in several regions dominated by candidates from the Koalisi Indonesia Maju (KIM), led by Prabowo Subianto.
According to Agung, KIM’s achievements in the 2024 Pilkada demonstrate the success of Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto, who is seen as capable of orchestrating diverse stakeholders.
“We know that several strategic Pilkada victories were achieved, notably in North Sumatra, Banten, West Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, and East Java. This is evidence of the leadership of the ‘kingmaker,’ Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, who has successfully orchestrated a large coalition,” Agung told reporters on Thursday (28/11).
Agung stated that Prabowo’s ability to unify a large and solid coalition signifies a positive direction for governance, ensuring alignment between central and regional programs.
“A large coalition, even an exceptionally large one, has remained solid, successfully securing victories for all candidates in the aforementioned provinces. Secondly, this indicates a positive direction for Prabowo-Gibran’s administration, where central and regional programs will be in harmony,” he said.
The regions won by the Koalisi Indonesia Maju Plus in the 2024 Pilkada are considered potential hubs that could serve as a foundation for accelerating the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s programs.
“These regions will likely become the base for accelerating the realization of programs already outlined, such as the free nutritious meal program, human resource development, improving healthcare quality, and other initiatives,” Agung explained.
Furthermore, Agung noted that Prabowo consistently emphasizes the importance of unity among political forces, especially among regional leaders who will begin their official terms after being inaugurated.
“I believe this approach should be extended not only to regions where KIM Plus candidates won but also indirectly to other regions, so they too can actively participate in and contribute to the government’s programs,” Agung concluded. (RR)
