In Front of G20 Leaders, Prabowo Subianto Reiterates Call for Peace in Palestine

Rio de Janeiro — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto once again called for peace in the conflict-ridden Gaza region of Palestine. Prabowo conveyed this message during his address to the G20 leaders at the first session of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Monday (11/18) local time.

Prabowo urged for an immediate ceasefire in both Gaza and Ukraine, which are currently embroiled in conflicts.

“We urge an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and Gaza,” Prabowo said.

He added that the world’s economic challenges cannot be separated from ongoing geopolitical dynamics, including current conflicts. Hence, he called on all G20 members to take concrete steps to address these conflicts in pursuit of peace and stability.

“Only with peace and stability can we overcome poverty and hunger. We also urge G20 countries to use their collective strength to enhance multilateral efforts on this matter,” Prabowo emphasized.

He specifically urged G20 countries to leverage their collective power to strengthen multilateral initiatives to resolve these conflicts.

“We also urge G20 countries to increase their collective strength to bolster multilateral efforts on this issue. Thank you,” Prabowo concluded.

Accompanying President Prabowo at the summit were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. (RR)
