Brazil — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto expressed his desire to learn from Brazil’s success in implementing its Free Nutritious Meal Program and renewable energy initiatives.
Prabowo made this statement during the Indonesia-Brazil Business Forum held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit at the Copacabana Palace, Rio de Janeiro, on Monday (11/17).
“I provide free meals to every child in Indonesia. In this regard, I want to learn from Brazil, which has already succeeded. I have instructed my team to coordinate with your investors to bring this to Indonesia,” Prabowo stated.
He shared his plans to deploy a team to study Brazil’s Free Nutritious Meal Program, particularly its implementation in schools.
“We want to form a team to study Brazil’s school meal program. After ensuring food sufficiency and proper nutrition for children, we will also move towards energy sufficiency,” Prabowo explained.
At the same forum, Prabowo also expressed interest in Brazil’s renewable energy initiatives, particularly its advancements in environmentally friendly solar energy production.
“I think Brazil is ahead of us in using environmentally friendly energy, particularly in producing solar energy from palm oil,” he remarked.
Prabowo conveyed his optimism that Indonesia could achieve similar progress, given its abundant renewable energy resources.
“We have a vast amount of solar energy potential. We are excited to embrace the future,” he concluded. (RR)
