Rio de Janeiro, Brazil — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Base Aérea do Galeão (BAGL) Airport at 11:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, November 17.
Upon arrival, Prabowo was greeted with a military honor guard. Taking a moment to salute the troops, he displayed his appreciation for the warm welcome.
High-ranking officials present to greet Prabowo included Brazil’s Ambassador to Indonesia, George Monteiro Prata; Indonesia’s Ambassador to Brazil, Edi Yusup; and Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Brasília, Colonel Rizal Ashwam Amanda.
“Welcome to Brazil, Mr. President,” said George Monteiro Prata.
“Thank you very much,” Prabowo replied warmly.
Following the ceremonial reception, Prabowo proceeded to his vehicle and headed to the hotel where he will be staying.
Prabowo’s visit to Brazil is part of his continued diplomatic tour, having attended key international summits in China, the United States, and Peru. He is in Brazil to participate in the G20 Summit. (RR)
