Lima, Peru — After attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2024 Summit, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of free, fair, and orderly trade on Saturday afternoon, November 16 (local time).
Prabowo highlighted that the APEC 2024 Summit not only brought together Pacific leaders but also reinforced the commitment to equitable free trade.
“I think APEC is a valuable opportunity to build networks among Pacific leaders. We discussed many issues, including how to maintain good trade that is open yet fair,” Prabowo stated.
Indonesia, as part of the Pacific region, seeks free trade that adheres to fairness and order.
“We want trade that is free, orderly, and fair,” he added.
Prabowo has been in Lima, Peru, attending a series of APEC 2024 events from November 14 to November 16, 2024.
The first day began with a breakfast with Australian PM Anthony Albanese, bilateral meetings as well as the awarding of the Grand Collar de la Orden El Sol del Peru or The Order of The Sun of The Peru from Peruvian President Dian Boluarte, and becoming the Keynote Speaker at the APEC CEO Summit 2024.
On the second day, Prabowo had bilateral meetings with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and also New Zealand PM Christoper Luxon and met with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong followed by a Gala Dinner with world leaders attending APEC 2024.
Following the conclusion of APEC 2024, Prabowo is scheduled to continue his official international duties by attending the G20 Summit in Brazil. (RR)
