Lima, Peru – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto visited Peru’s Presidential Palace to meet President Dina Boluarte on Thursday, November 14. The meeting took place at Palacio De Gobierno in Lima, where Prabowo was welcomed with a formal guard of honor by the Peruvian military.

Arriving promptly at 2:00 p.m. local time, Prabowo saluted and greeted the honor guard before being warmly received by President Dina Boluarte. The ceremonial event included the playing of both national anthems—Indonesia Raya and Peru’s anthem—followed by Prabowo and Dina greeting the press with friendly waves.

During the bilateral meeting, Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s desire to strengthen ties with Peru.

“This is my first official visit to Peru, and I would like to reaffirm Indonesia’s commitment to deepening our cooperation,” Prabowo stated.

The two nations have enjoyed a 50-year relationship, and Prabowo expressed his determination to elevate this partnership across various sectors.

The discussions between Prabowo and President Boluarte covered key strategic topics, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which both leaders hope to finalize within six months.

“I hope the agreement will be signed within six months, and perhaps we can formalize it during your visit to Indonesia with your delegation,” said Prabowo.

The leaders also addressed critical areas of collaboration, such as combating narcotics and promoting international security. Both underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Pacific region.

“As Pacific nations, we share a vested interest in peace and stability across the Pacific region,” Prabowo affirmed.
