Indonesian Students in Beijing Excitedly Prepare to Welcome Prabowo Subianto

Beijing – Indonesian students studying in Beijing eagerly prepared for the arrival of President Prabowo Subianto on Friday evening (November 8) as he made his official visit to China.

In a vlog by YouTube content creator Rudy Chen, the preparation process was captured, showing the students’ excitement as they awaited Prabowo’s arrival. The Indonesian Embassy in China opened registration for those who wished to attend, providing badges for the 108 Indonesian citizens and students who signed up.

“Registration started at 3:30 PM, and President Prabowo is expected to arrive in Beijing around 6:30 PM. A total of 108 Indonesians and students are here to welcome him,” Rudy Chen explained in his vlog.

Destafa H. Mustafa, the First Secretary for Social and Cultural Affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in China, highlighted that enthusiasm for Prabowo’s visit was not limited to students but extended to Indonesian community members in China, including many Indonesian mothers.

“We’re very excited to welcome President Prabowo. This is his first international visit since his inauguration,” Destafa said.

Once registered, attendees were given identification badges and Indonesian flags and divided into two groups: one to greet Prabowo outside the hotel and another in the lobby.

When Prabowo arrived, the students excitedly called out his name, asking for a chance to take photos with him.

“Sir, permission to take a photo! Indonesian students in Beijing!” the students shouted.

Prabowo responded warmly, stepping out of his vehicle to greet them, shaking hands, and posing for photos.

Amid the excitement, one student even sent greetings for Prabowo’s cat, Bobby, who now resides at the presidential palace.

“Say hello to Bobby for us, Sir!” a student called out.

Prabowo’s visit to Beijing, part of his diplomatic tour, was at the official invitation of President Xi Jinping, aimed at strengthening Indonesia-China relations across various fields. (RR)
