Jakarta – President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, led the first meeting of the “Merah Putih” Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (23/10). During the session, Prabowo called on his cabinet ministers to cut back on non-essential ceremonial events and overseas trips.
“I am asking that activities that are too ceremonial, too many seminars, too many symposiums, too many conferences, and too many overseas trips be reduced,” Prabowo firmly stated before his ministers.
He emphasized that the members of the Merah Putih Cabinet must set an example by prioritizing the people’s economic welfare and not engaging in unnecessary activities, while always prioritizing efficiency.
“We must set an example. Our focus is on building an economy that improves the people’s welfare. No unnecessary actions. No more comparative studies or learning about Scouts from other countries. I urge you to be efficient,” he added.
Furthermore, Prabowo requested that the Coordinating Ministers and the Minister of Finance closely monitor and review the state budget (APBN). He also urged ministers to revisit the Budget Implementation Lists (DIPA) to ensure efficient use of funds.
“I ask the Minister of Finance, I ask all Coordinating Ministers, I ask all ministers to re-examine the APBN allocations. Review the DIPA. Review it again,” Prabowo said.
In addition, Prabowo mentioned that his administration has established a new Development Control and Special Investigation Agency. The agency will be tasked with monitoring all programs executed by ministries and governmental institutions.
“Ladies and gentlemen, if you observe, in the government I have formed, I have strengthened the position of the Presidential Chief of Staff. I have reinforced it. Additionally, I have created a Development Control and Special Investigation Agency. Their job is to monitor all programs and projects that we will launch,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
