Jakarta – Indonesia’s 8th President, Prabowo Subianto, has stressed that true democracy is best experienced by the people through equitable access to quality education and healthcare.
Prabowo made this statement during the first cabinet meeting with the Merah Putih Cabinet at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (October 23).
“I’ve said this before—education is absolutely essential. I have already spoken with the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, as well as the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education. We now have a comprehensive plan on how education will soon reach all of our children, utilizing technology,” Prabowo emphasized.
In addition to education, Prabowo underscored the critical importance of access to healthcare, describing it as a fundamental pillar for the continued progress of the nation.
“Healthcare is just as important. The quickest and most tangible form of democratization for the people is if we can provide the best education for our children and adequate healthcare for all of our citizens. That is true democracy, my friends,” Prabowo remarked.
He further reiterated that these two essential goals can only be achieved if ministers and law enforcement officers act decisively and without hesitation in carrying out their responsibilities.
“Health Minister, we need healthcare reform. Address the issues surrounding doctors and healthcare workers. We have a specific program, and we will discuss that in due course,” Prabowo concluded. (RR)
