Jakarta – President-elect Prabowo Subianto (2024-2029) emphasized that while intelligence plays a crucial role in life, there is something even more important—the heart.
“In human life, although intelligence is very important, what is more important is what is in the heart. Intelligence, but with a corrupt heart. Intelligence, but with a dishonest heart. Intelligence without good values is actually dangerous for the interests of the people and humanity,” Prabowo stated during the closing of the 6th Congress of the National Mandate Party (PAN) held in Jakarta on Saturday, August 24.
He further pointed out that having good intentions alone is not sufficient to build a nation and improve the lives of the Indonesian people. Rationality, commitment, and a strong will are also necessary, which are the values he has consistently upheld in his political journey.
“Good intentions are very important, but good intentions are not enough. Our nation consists of people with good intentions, people with goodwill, people who were raised by teachers, religious leaders, and parents with good values. But often, they are deceived, lied to by cunning people, hypocrites, those who say one thing but mean another,” he continued.
Prabowo noted that his presence at the PAN congress was a valuable opportunity, as he felt he was among friends. He highlighted the longstanding alliance between PAN and Gerindra, noting that they share common goals and aspirations to build and serve the nation.
He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the unwavering support and loyalty that PAN has shown over the years. “First of all, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to the National Mandate Party. Thank you for your loyalty. Thank you for always being by my side. Thank you, even though we have faced defeats many times, you have always stayed by my side,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan remarked that his party would adopt the successful strategies of the Gerindra Party to become a major political force.
“PAN will apply Gerindra’s successful strategies in building the party. We don’t need to struggle or search hard, we just need to imitate them, so that we can become a great party,” Zulkifli concluded. (RR)
