East Kalimantan – Minister of Defense and President-elect for the term 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during the flag-lowering ceremony of the Red and White at the Garuda Palace in the Nusantara Capital, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, on Saturday afternoon (17/8) local time.
For the occasion, Prabowo wore a cream-colored Mataram Javanese beskap and a black peci, while Jokowi dressed in the traditional attire of the Banjar tribe of South Kalimantan, known as Baamar Galung Pancar Matahari.
The ceremony commenced at approximately 4:40 PM WITA with a report from the Ceremony Commander, Colonel Pnb Taufik Nurcahyanto, to Jokowi, who was the inspector of the ceremony.
The flag-lowering process was conducted by members of the Paskibraka, led by the Company Commander AKP Ahmad Fahruoji Mulia, comprising 76 students from 38 provinces across Indonesia.
After being lowered, the flag was carried to the honor podium and handed over to Jokowi. The entire flag-lowering ceremony concluded around 5:28 PM WITA and was officially closed with a final report from the ceremony leader to the inspector.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, several former Presidents and Vice Presidents of Indonesia, heads of institutions, top military and police officials, and ambassadors from various countries.
