Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s President-elect and Chairman of the Gerindra Party, has warmly welcomed the NasDem Party’s entry into the Indonesia Maju Coalition (IMC).
He made this announcement following a meeting with NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Thursday (15/8).
“I reiterate my view that unity is the key to national success, and therefore, I am pleased that NasDem has decided to join us in serving our country and people,” said Prabowo.
He added that this decision reflects a determination and commitment to continuously work for the people’s interests. “Differences in opinion are a part of life. Different choices are normal and healthy. We respect each other, but now is the time to unite and work for the people,” Prabowo stated.
Surya Paloh echoed this sentiment, mentioning that the decision to join IMC was made after intensive discussions.
“We all share the same resolve and choice on how the process and progress of our national life must move dynamically to achieve greater unity among the people,” he explained.
Surya Paloh also expressed hope that the public would continue to foster optimism to facilitate the governance of Indonesia under the Prabowo-Gibran leadership.
“NasDem clearly states, with all resources at its disposal, it is committed to the success of this government,” he concluded.
