Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) addressed the president-elect Prabowo Subianto during the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara, held at Monas, Jakarta, on Monday (July 1).
“I respect the president-elect of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto,” said Jokowi during his speech.
Prabowo, dressed in a gray suit, then stood up straight and saluted, accompanied by applause from the attendees at the event.
In his address, Jokowi congratulated the Indonesian National Police (Polri) on the anniversary and expressed gratitude for the dedication shown by its members.
“First of all, I would like to extend congratulations on the 78th Bhayangkara Day to the entire extended family of Polri, wherever you may be,” Jokowi stated.
Jokowi also appreciated the hard work and dedication of all Polri members in maintaining stability and security.
“As a result, our nation has been able to continue growing amidst the current global challenges and uncertainties,” Jokowi continued.
The event celebrating the 78th anniversary of Bhayangkara was also attended by members of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet, ambassadors from various countries, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) along with his staff, and retired Polri officers.
