Jakarta – Three-quarters of the public are confident that the President and Vice President-elect for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, will enhance Indonesia’s standing as a nation.

This insight comes from a June 2024 survey conducted by Kompas Research, featured in an article titled ‘Kompas Survey: Public Believes in Continuity from Jokowi to Prabowo’, published on Saturday (June 22) on Kompas.id.

The high level of public confidence in the success of the Prabowo-Gibran administration is evident from the various challenges faced by the nation, particularly Indonesia’s position on the international stage.

The survey revealed that at least eight out of ten respondents, or 83.6 percent, believe the nation will command greater respect internationally under Prabowo-Gibran’s leadership.

“The highest confidence is expressed in the hope that the nation’s position will strengthen in the face of other countries. The international community is expected to pay more attention to the country’s strengths, both in terms of defense and various developed economic potentials,” the survey noted.

Economically, a major portion of respondents in this survey also believe that Indonesia’s macroeconomic issues and the fulfillment of everyday economic needs will improve under the Prabowo-Gibran administration.

Further findings show that 68.5 percent of the public is confident that Prabowo-Gibran will achieve greater economic stability and growth compared to the past.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews by Kompas Research from May 27 to June 2, 2024. A total of 1,200 respondents were randomly selected using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 provinces in Indonesia.

Using this method, at a 95 percent confidence level, the research’s margin of error is approximately 2.83 percent under simple random sampling conditions. The survey was fully funded by Kompas Daily (PT Kompas Media Nusantara).
